Thoughts and Prayer for Today

"Daily Spiritual Journey "

"The true and only remedy for this evil is to make little account of what suggests itself to our mind. When asked for our opinion, let us give it frankly, but with indifference as to whether or not it be accepted or approved, and let us be careful to follow the judgment of others rather than our own, whenever it can be lawfully done."
- St. Francis de Sales

"Values, Hopes and Dreams"

Today's Schedule - Friday March 29, 2013

FRIDAY OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD -

Stabat Mater Dolorosa

Jesus answered pilate,
"My kingdom does not belong to this world.
If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.
But as it is, my kingdom is not here."

Traditionally a day of sadness, spent in fasting and prayer.

We can prepare to begin the Good Friday celebration by reflecting upon ourselves laying there at the foot of the cross - Our feelings may not be consistent or even inspiring. Let us enter the liturgy on Good Friday in silence.

John's account of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the best way of praying today for all "who hold fast to our confession" of faith in Jesus as our personal and universal Savior.

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."

In you, O LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your justice rescue me. Into your hands I commend my spirit; you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God.
